The Mission of the Disc Golf Foundation
Education Advancement Endowment
The Mission of the Disc Golf Foundation (DGF) is multifaceted.
First, it is to support educational programs that promote awareness
of the sport of disc golf. Secondly, the DGF facilitates the advancement
of disc golf, for example, through the support of new course development.
Finally, the DGF endows worthy cultural and historical institutions
that reflect the evolution and spirit of disc golf.
Education, Advancement, Endowment...these are the cornerstones
of the Disc Golf Foundation.
Why disc golf? The DGF and the members of the greater disc golf
community believe that our sport is unequalled in providing recreation,
exercise, companionship, fun, and contact with Nature. Players of
all ages and ability levels can have an inexpensive and fun fitness
program for the rest of their lives. And reflecting this, the growth
of disc golf has been dramatic, especially with youngsters.
The DGF is a non-profit, charitable organization. When giving
to a charitable organization, like the DGF, you receive a tax-deductible
receipt for the total value of the donation made. You can help a
worthy cause and get a tax break at the same time. The Board of
Directors of the Foundation are a group of dedicated and experienced
members of the disc golf community. They generously donate their
time and expertise in a completely voluntary manner.
Through support from generous folks like yourself, the Disc Golf
Foundation will grow to become an important, and essential, institution
in the world of disc golf. Part of this growth will include the
establishment of office facilities for the DGF at the National Disc
Center in Augusta, GA. This is the same site where the Professional
Disc Golf Association (PDGA) will soon be located.
As we evolve, the Disc Golf Foundation will be dedicated to creating
a foundation for the future of this wonderful sport we
all share.
The future of disc golf is created with your support. Please consider
donating to the Disc Golf Foundation.
